A masterpiece for women from Richard Mille, the favorite exotic brand of recent times. Richard Mille, who rolled its sleeves up upon women’s increasing interest in luxury watches, once again managed to bring superior quality and unique design under the same roof with the RM07-01 model. Designed by combining concepts that seem to be disconnected, such as advanced technology, feminine design and unique ergonomics, the RM07-01 is one of the rare women’s watches that can be both stylish and sporty at the same time.
The model is offered in a multi-piece case measuring 45.66mm x 31.04mm x 11.85mm. The lower and upper components of the case are made of carbon fiber material while the middle body is manufactured from 18K pink gold. It is hardly possible to describe the luxurious feeling of the bezel and the dial set with numerous diamonds in words. The case is equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and is water resistant to 50 meters / 5 bars. All components of the case are secured together with 4 titanium screws. The sealing between the layers is provided by Nitrile gaskets. There are two more titanium screws on the top and bottom to secure the strap to the case.
Initially introduced in 2014, the in-house automatic Caliber CRMA2 is the simplest movement in the brand’s product line in terms of function, despite its complicated design. Skeleton style movement can perform the winding process at varying rates according to the user’s amount of activity during the day thanks to its variable rotor geometry feature. 25 jewels movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of 50 hours when fully wound. Equipped with time keeping function only, Caliber CRMA2 allows remarkably thin and comfortable case designs.
The RM07-01 aims to give its customers a unique shopping experience with numerous materials, colors and strap-bracelet options. In addition to 18K pink and white gold, quartz TPT, carbon TPT, white ceramic, brown ceramic, black ceramic material alternatives and gem set versions of those models, RM07-01 is also available with various strap and bracelet choices. The one we have here comes on a red Velcro strap that reinforces the model’s sporty character while boosting the wearing comfort level to the maximum. And yes, there is a selection of colors for this very strap as well. Finally, the price of having such a special women’s watch starts around € 60,000 and goes up to one million € level, just like the RM07-02 Pink Sapphire which we shared in our pages previously.
The RM 07-01 represents the perfect mechanical synthesis between Haute Horlogerie elegance and the ‘tough love’ provided by new materials.
Two new variations enhance Richard Mille’s most feminine collection. The elongated cushion-shaped case of the RM 07-01 Automatic Starry Night model is crafted out of a solid block of black Carbon TPT
. Although red gold elements, the fine edging along the flange, the crown and the hands add warm touches to the piece, it’s its sumptuous starry-patterned stone setting which endows it with a resolutely-precious silhouette. No less than 181 diamonds are poised ever-so delicately on the watch bezel and its openworked dial. Thanks to the absolute precision offered by the embedding technique used, all the gems appear to be at-one with these components. The strap, fashioned in the same material as the case, stands out with its ultra-light weight, less than 29 grams!
The RM 07-01Automatic version is set apart thanks to the elegant combination of two materials, though red gold reigns supreme in particular on the case-middle. None of the gems sparkle in the pared-down, contrasted scenography boasting the time data, yet this timepiece is totally infused with jewelry sumptuousness. The novel interpretation of the chain bracelet is the main reason with an intertwined play on matt and glossy links imagined using the same precious, high-tech materials.
Richard Mille is a brand well known for producing high-quality mechanical timepieces which are created using Avant-garde materials making them capable of handling extreme situations which a normal mechanical watch would shy away from. Interestingly the brands women’s watches also get the same treatment and today we will have a look at one of them. So here it is especially for all the ladies out there the latest version of the Richard Mille RM 07-01 which not only has the case but also a new bracelet made from TPT carbon.
The RM 07-01 has a Tonneau-shaped case and heavy usage of carbon gives it a lot of rigidity and a unique texture making it look like nothing else out there. But apart from the looks carbon is a material which also adds lightness to the case which means that it should be able to sit comfortably on the wrist for a longer duration. So, when Richard Mille decided to attach this case to a bracelet the choice of material could not have been anything but Carbon TPT. The bracelet comprises of 200 parts which include dozens of Carbon TPT plates which have been placed over a Grade 5 titanium framework and secured by spline screws. It took around 13 months to complete the development and it seems to have provided the Tonneau case a seamless extension. And finally, to put things into perspective the entire bracelet including the folding clasp weight just 29 grams. Now that really is lightweight. Isn’t it?
The dial on the RM 07-01 is well executed and has a familiar layout. Present at the center is a black dial which nicely matches the look of the case. Surrounding the main dial plate is a transparent section which gives a slight view of the mechanical underpinnings of this watch. On the outermost periphery is a combination of droplet-shaped lume filled applied markers and a printed minute track. Time can be read using the sword shaped handset which has also been filled with luminous paint for enhanced low light visibility.
Richard Mille is marking its racing team’s LMP2 debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship at Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps circuit this weekend with a limited edition RM 07-01 Racing Red.
The color is taken from Roxy, the Oreca-Gibson car driven by the all-female Richard Mille Racing Team of Beitske Visser, Sophia Flörsch and Tatiana Calderón, all of whom will be wearing the new limited edition while driving during the championship.
The combination of the Racing Red and black results in a sporty take on the normally feminine RM07-01, with black Carbon TPT forming the dial and caseband, while red Quartz TPT forms the rest of the case.
The limited run of 50 watches is powered by the CRMA2 automatic, a skeletonized titanium movement with 50 hours power reserve and free sprung balance.
Qualifiers, with 14 cars in the LMP2 class, take place on Friday with the Total 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps starting on Saturday. The FIA World Endurance Championship is a series of six endurance races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, staged in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
No word on price yet, but the RM07-01 Automatic Racing Red is available now, via Richard Mille.
