Over the weekend, the inaugural Patek Philippe Watch Art Grand Exhibition in Tokyo was unveiled. In tandem with showcasing a bevy of time-telling novelties, the prestige Maison also premiered a series of limited-edition timepieces. Among the lineup of special releases, a particular spotlight was directed to three references: the new Quadruple Complication Ref. 5308, the exclusive World Time Minute Repeater Ref. 5331, as well as a Minute Repeater Ref. 5330 with date display.
Presented as a limited-edition of 15 pieces, Ref. 5308 not only houses a new quadruple complication, but it’s also geared with a minute repeater, a split-seconds-chronograph, and an instantaneous perpetual calendar. Housed inside the platinum case and salmon dial, beats the new self-winding R CHR 27 PS QI calibre that bestows the reference with its instantaneous date change function.
Also produced in a limited run of 15 units, the Ref. 5331 World Time Minute Repeater Rare Handcrafts is a dedicated release for the exhibition. In honor of its host city, the center of the dial depicts a map of Tokyo’s center with Grand Feu cloisonné enamel. Attired in rose gold with a case that measures 40.2mm in diameter, this exquisite time-teller is powered by the self-winding R 27 HU calibre.
As for the Ref. 5330 World Time Date, it comes with a luscious plum-hued dial with a mesmerizing hand-guilloched center, all framed inside a 40mm, hand-polished white gold case. Offered as a 300-piece limited-edition, this novelty runs on a new 240 HU C calibre, complete with a patented differential system for managing the local-time date.

Currently open for public admission, the Patek Philippe Watch Art Grand Exhibition is taking place at the Sankaku Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Triangle Square and will run until June 25. The Quadruple Complication Reference 5308P-010 Limited Edition Tokyo is a minute repeater, split-seconds chronograph and instantaneous perpetual calendar in apertures. It contains a new movement, the caliber R CHR 27 PS QI with two patented innovations that reduce energy consumption with regard to the clutch and the split seconds. The dial is the rich salmon color that is much coveted by collectors at the moment, and generally reserved for special editions. Case and bracelet are platinum. It is a limited edition of 15 pieces.
The Patek Philippe World Time Reference 5330G-010 joins the color parade with a luscious plum-colored dial. The movement, caliber 240 HU C drives a world-first function: a date display synchronized with local time. The name “Tokyo” appears in red on the city disk, and on the 24-hour disk, a red rising sun, Japan’s national emblem, replaces the classic sun symbol on the day/night indicator.
Another world timer, the Patek Philippe World Time Minute Repeater Reference 5531R-014, has a grand feu cloisonné enamel dial decoration representing the historic Chuo district in the center of Tokyo. The minute repeater chimes the local time. It is limited to 15 pieces, and like all these new editions, is being launched exclusively in the Japanese market. The Ladies’ Moon-Phase Reference 7121/200G-010 is a 200 piece edition with a moon phase display that will not need adjustment for 122 years. The shimmering pearl gray dial is surrounded by a bezel set with 132 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 1.09 carats.
